Two Cala Homes project managers based in the Edinburgh region have been recognised with top industry honours for their exceptional standards in housebuilding.
Jordon McKenna and Gavin McCann, who manage the Craighall Village development in Millerhill and Queensferry Heights in South Queensferry respectively, have both received Pride in the Job Quality Awards from the National House Building Council (NHBC)—often dubbed the ‘Oscars’ of the construction world.
Now in its 45th year, the NHBC’s prestigious awards recognise site managers across the UK who demonstrate exceptional leadership, technical know-how, and dedication to quality. This year’s winners represent the top five per cent from over 8,000 eligible sites nationwide.
Jordon commented: “It’s a reflection of the effort and high standards the entire team brings to site every day. This award is a fantastic recognition of that fact.”
Gavin, who has now won five NHBC awards—three for Queensferry Heights—added: “This is an exciting moment for the whole team. Health and safety and quality have been our top priorities from day one.”
Both project managers will now progress to the next stage, where they’ll be in the running for a Seal of Excellence and potentially a national Supreme Award in early 2026.
Craig Lynes, Managing Director for Cala Homes (East), said: “These awards are a testament to the consistent hard work and attention to detail shown by both Jordon and Gavin, and by everyone across their teams.”
Cala’s award-winning developments continue to attract local interest, with Craighall Village offering family homes on the edge of Edinburgh, and Queensferry Heights providing a sought-after mix of apartments and houses just a mile from South Queensferry’s vibrant high street.
