Moving house can be incredibly stressful. Trying to remember everything and get everything done can seem like a massive mountain that you are unable to climb but eventually, you will manage to get everything done.
There are many ways you can make moving house less stressful and we have shared some of our top tips in this blog post. We hope you find our guide helpful.

Have A Massive Declutter
Don’t take what you don’t need. It may seem harsh to get rid of some stuff but if you haven’t used it in the house you are in, its unlikely you are going to use it any time soon in your new house. By doing a massive declutter – selling, recycling, donating your used stuff – you won’t have to take as much to your new property and will save both time and energy by not transporting this unwanted stuff from property to property.
Label EVERYTHING
It is so much easier to organise if you put the boxes in each room they are meant to go in when you get there. By labelling every box with what room they go in and what they are, you will be able to unpack the other end with ease and also find things when you need them. We all know that it takes quite a few days to unpack but sometimes you will need something quickly out of one of the boxes. With everything labelled, you will be able to find it quickly and easily.
Ask For Help
It can be tempting to try and do the job on your own or with the household but sometimes you need a little bit of help. A company who offer quick house removal is a great option as they will do the job quickly and efficiently. If you don’t want to use a whole removal service, a quick man and van hire is also a great choice.
Do The Admin
You really do not want to forget changing addresses on everything! The last thing you need is letters and parcels going to your old property. Make sure you have set up postal redirects where possible and make it a job to update your addresses with the most important places as soon as you move in – these would be the companies you have bills with, your bank, updating your driving licence details. The sooner you do it, the less likely it is you will forget and end up with something going to the wrong place.
Pack Some Essentials
You might not have considered this but you really should pack a bag full of essentials just in case. This should have all your important documents, spare clothes for everyone in the house and stuff like toothbrushes, toothpaste, money – things you will need before going to bed that you don’t want to have to unpack! By having it close at hand, you won’t need to necessarily worry about unpacking until the next day and can just flop into bed.
We hope you find these tips helpful – hopefully moving house won’t be too stressful for you!
