The Charleston Restaurant, Maybury Casino, Edinburgh
While we all love to be wined and dined in lavish restaurants, not all of us can afford to visit Michelin-starred restaurants on a regular basis. As you’ll know if you’re a keen reader of Edinburgers, the city’s culinary tapestry is a very rich with hundreds of great eateries spanning anywhere between Leith to Danderhall.

However, one of the most interesting that we have yet to cover on here is The Charleston Restaurants situated in the Maybury Casino, which is under the Gala Casino banner. The casino is a “neon-lit 1920s landmark” according to Food List and can cater for 100 customers at once. It’s also known for “its Everest-high levels of service,” as well as its wonderful décor.
The restaurant overlooks the Maybury Casino’s vast gaming floor. Because of where it’s situated, it creates a real buzz in the Charleston, and it can prove to be the ideal motivation to enjoy yourselves on the gaming floors after you’ve finished your meal.
The acclaimed chefs have curated a superb a la carte menu for visitors, with various creative takes on quintessential British dishes. It also has several private rooms, which are ideal for private functions and parties.
To gain entry to the restaurant, visitors will first have to register at the lobby of the casino first. All guests need is a valid I.D., then they will be asked to fill in some paperwork to become a member. Before your table is ready, guests are welcome to partake in some of the many table games available on the Maybury’s casino floor. Like leading online casino portals, which feature trending games like Britain’s Got Talent and Coronation Street-themed slots, the Maybury also has a wealth of slots and poker games catering for various demographics.
If gaming isn’t your thing, then you can sit in one of the bars and wait for your table to become available. Below are the usual opening times of the restaurant:
Monday-Sunday: 12pm-3pm & 6pm-11pm
Average price of a meal: £8.95 (lunch); £25 (evening)
