Sometimes it can be strangely difficult to find time for yourself. But even if you are more extroverted and enjoy spending time with others, it’s healthy and necessary to give yourself a break from the world now and then. Here are a few things you can do to find some balance.

Exercise
Self care isn’t just about chilling out and doing nothing at all. That can be a big part of it, but it’s also important to look after your body and mind. So, while exercise might sound like more hard work, it’s a very important way to invest in yourself and feel better.
For example, walking or cycling in nature can be great for your mental and physical health. There’s something about being outside that can make you feel happier and less anxious. You also get a fantastic cardiovascular workout and can feel a huge sense of accomplishment when you finish the walk. If you’re going alone, think about the area that you’re in. Hiking alone can be lovely, but some places are dangerous, so make sure someone knows where you are.
Another option is to work out at the gym and try to reach specific goals. Certain exercises will help you with your goals, such as building muscular strength. Strength training is good for everyone, as it also helps your joints and endurance.
Spa Days
One thing that might be more familiar to a self care experience is a spa day. It is possible to have a spa experience at home, and this can be a cheaper and easier option. If you have a bath, get your favourite bath salts, oils, and bubble bath and combine them for a relaxing experience. Put some music on, light some candles, and enjoy a glass of bubbly while you chill out.
Another option is to splash out and enjoy a proper spa day. Whether you simply pop in for a spa and sauna experience and swim in a pool to cool off, or you prefer pampering complete with massages and essential oils, this can be a great way to get the load off and give yourself a well-earned rest.
Coffee Breaks
Sometimes the only time you can scrape out of the way is a few minutes here and there to yourself. Take full advantage of these and give yourself time to relax and restore yourself. Whether you prefer coffee, tea, or a different drink to relax with, make sure you sit down and chill out while drinking it.
Rather than just scrolling through your phone or social media, think about something else you can do to keep yourself occupied. A book might be a good idea, or you can try a crossword or a different brain teaser.
If you have a journal, this can be a great chance to add to it and either draw or write to work through your thoughts of the day. Try sitting at a window so you can look outside as well.
