You made it to London and explored the attractions that were on your bucket list. Still, you have more time and somehow got bored with your usual London schedule. Now what?
As packing your bags and going back home is not an option (for now), let’s see what you can do and where to go. For example, you can catch a train or hire a long-distance chauffeur and explore the UK beyond London. Or maybe have some rest for a day or two before reviewing your favourite London locations once again.
We must say, we’re fans of the long-distance trips, so we’ll try to make you visit at least one of these locations:
Edinburgh, Scotland
This is indeed a long-distance destination that will take a few hours until you get there from London, but it’s worth the effort. Many say Edinburgh is one of the most beautiful and fascinating cities in the world, with a rich history and cultural influence. Explore Edinburgh Castle, wander down the Royal Mile, and learn about the city’s fascinating past – it’s worth the time you’ll invest.
Bath, England
The bath is a protected heritage site – an example of authentic architecture and beautiful Roman baths. As you suppose, there are quite a few thermal baths, but the place is beautiful itself just to explore it. You’ll indeed feel like you’re in some old romantic film, waiting for something beautiful to happen.
Wales
Wales is a western British country with so many beautiful cities, especially the capital city named Cardiff. Additionally, you can explore the Snowdonia National Park, or hike up to the Snowdon Mountains. Since Wales is much closer than Scotland, you’ll have more time even for daily visits.
The Lake District, England
The Lake District is famous for its stunning scenery – just like out of some fairytale. It’s a great way to explore the nature, away from the busy city of London. It’s not even suprising that this is the one of the most requested UK long distance chauffeur services. People want to hike, or stay near the lake coast for some time. Also, you can take a boat tour and discover the beautiful nature that can’t be seen from the coast.
York, England
It’s a beautiful historic city with many medieval buildings. It’s a mysterious place that takes your breath away as you explore each corner. Explore York Minster, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe, and walk along the Shambles, a street with timber-framed buildings. This way, you can learn a lot about York’s rich history, which also includes Vikings – exciting, right?
Brighton, England
Brighton is a seaside town that captures the beauty of England at its finest. You can spend the afternoon on the beach or visit the Brighton Palace Pier and the Royal Pavilion. Brighton is an authentic example of the Georgian era, even though many of the attractions were built during the famous Victorian era. Anyway, it’s a beautiful royal experience you shouldn’t miss.
The Cotswolds, England
The Cotswolds is a charming area in England that will increase your standards for rural tourism. The architecture is outstanding, and the nature is breathtaking. Explore the rolling hills, charming villages, and historic towns. It’s an experience you don’t want to miss while in the UK.
Manchester, England
Manchester is a big city that offers both vibrant musical scene and industrial heritage. You’ll only have to step out the car and immediately feel like you’re in some fantasy place. Visit the National Football Museum, explore the Northern Quarter, and catch a show at the Manchester Arena, if there’s some match while there. For a truly luxurious experience, consider using a Manchester chauffeur service to navigate the city in style and comfort.
Newcastle, England
If you want to experience a different kind of nightlife compared to London, then Newcastle upon Tyne is the place you’re looking for. Explore the Grainger Town, an area with neoclassical architecture, visit Castle Garth, a Roman fort, and enjoy the nightlife in the Bigg Market. This city is more similar to London compared to the places we already mentioned above.
Stratford-upon-Avon, England
This is the birthplace of Shakespeare, so it’s as theatrical as it can be. The architecture is specific and different – a combination of modern and historic buildings in the middle of the cradle of British literature. Visit Shakespeare’s Birthplace, explore Anne Hathaway’s Cottage and see a performance at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The Isle of Skye
The Isle of Skye is the largest island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. Explore the dramatic landscapes, visit the colourful town of Portree, and hike up the Old Man of Storr, a rocky pinnacle. It’s another place you’ll feel like it’s out of a beautiful fairytale.
Conclusion
While London is indeed beautiful and offers any kind of fun and leisure, sometimes you’ll have to explore more than that.
Even though we listed quite a few places, you can do more alone research and discover something beautiful and authentic to make your UK stay worth remembering.
