Celebrate Thanksgiving with The Voyage of Buck and Old Forester Bourbon
Old Forester, America’s first bottled bourbon, has teamed up with Voyage of Buck this November to create a new seasonal cocktail to celebrate the American national holiday of Thanksgiving.
The cocktail was designed by the team at The Voyage Of Buck, an art-deco speakeasy style cocktail bar and restaurant in the heart of Edinburgh’s West End. The rich but smooth taste of Old Forester is perfectly complimented with honey and sage strained over ice, resulting in a long, warm finish.
Introduced by George Garvin Brown in 1870, Old Forester is the only bourbon continuously distilled by the same company before, during and after Prohibition. In 1920, at the start of Prohibition, many distilleries closed but Old Forester held one of only 6 federal licenses to continue producing whisky for medicinal purposes. This long-held experience in whisky-making is carried through into the Old Forester bourbon today, and can be tasted in its classically rich flavour and smooth character.
