News: Henricks Bar, Edinburgh relaunches

February 23, 2020 by Clare Leave a Comment

Having spent fifteen years plying their trade in the bright lights of London Jamie Forbes and Andria Stirling, both originally from Edinburgh, have returned to their roots with their own young family, full of fresh ideas and hankering for a good dram. Jamie and Andria have been busy putting their stamp on Henricks Bar, transforming it from a local Bruntsfield brasserie into a friendly neighbourhood bar that offers high quality cocktails, curated spirits and hand-picked wines alongside beautifully cooked, honest food. A truly family-run establishment, Henricks Bar is a reflection of the couple’s love of wine, gin, whisky and food.

A whisky aficionado from the beginning, Jamie started his bar career in Edinburgh, at Ricks Bar & Rooms (now Rabble), Candy Bar and then Indigo Yard. He was then headhunted to help open Albannach in London’s Trafalgar Square in 2004 where he joined as Whisky sommelier and bar manager before moving to Ignite Group. Reigniting his whisky roots, Jamie joined William Grant and Sons as Global Brand Ambassador for Monkey Shoulder Whisky, building what is now a major player in the whisky market globally. After a stint in Brazil with William Grants, Jamie returned to London and headed up the team at B&H Group, overseeing the group’s bars and restaurants and it is here where Jamie met Andria, who was responsible for all the group’s marketing and events.

Armed with expert knowledge, the pair have created an enticing drinks menu which features pared back, intelligent cocktails with a leaning towards whisky, while a dynamic, regularly changing menu celebrates a selection of beautiful wines around the world. This is combined with a food offering of classic brasserie fare combined with traditional Scottish favourites and moreish bar snacks.
