So supper clubs seem to be all the rage at the minute. It’s probably the combination of simple, tasty food and BYOB that make it a delicious but cheaper night out for everyone. Most supper clubs are held in locations you wouldn’t normally expect to be eating and often in the chef’s own home. We think they are a fab idea as they give you a chance to try new food and also meet new folk. Sitting at a table of strangers isn’t everyone’s cup of tea but for many it’s a great experience. With fellow foodies around the same table what could go wrong?
New kid on the block, Toasted Radish is hoping to bring simple, creative and thoughtful food to their diners in their own homes. They thoughtfully source food through both its Edinburgh based supper club and bespoke catering events. All the food sourced is seasonal and sustainable. Wherever possible they source within thirty miles of their location and all meat and vegetables are organic and fish is selected with sustainability in mind. By doing this they are able to ensure the highest possible quality whilst also supporting our local suppliers.
Based just a short walk north of Edinburgh city centre, they offer exclusive evenings of great food in a relaxed environment. So whether you are with a group of friends, or meeting people for the first time, supper clubs are a great way to enjoy quality food at an affordable price. Take a look at their sample-menu-for-winter-2016. It’s also a lovely way to meet people in a relaxed environment with a shared dining table. The supper clubs are BYOB and priced at around £30 for all food on the night, we think it’s great value. If that’s got your attention then why not check out their upcoming events for future dates. We’re keeping an eye out for future dates so we can get ourselves along. If you make it there, please send us your pictures, tweet or Instagram us so we can drool all over the lovely food. Keep up to date with Toasted Radish on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Thanks to Toasted Radish for the photos, fingers crossed we’ll have some of our own to show you soon.
Hi Edinburgers,
Loving your post raising the profile of Supperclubs – and hoping to check out Toasted Radish ourselves soon.
Just posting you a quick comment to share that my partner and I are also just about to kick off our new supperclub… with a twist! We’re hosting a fortnightly Adventure film screening x Supperclub evening at our house called ‘Eat + Wonder’. 4 delicious courses, 4 inspiring short films – It has a different theme each month and is starting off Alpine style on the 20th January. (Check the Eventbrite link for more details).
Long live the Edinburgh supperclubs!
All the best,
Elle
