We were recently asked if we would be interested in sampling a food hamper from Highland Fayre. You can usually count on us not to turn down any sort of food and also thought this would be an ideal chance to try out a potential Christmas pressie (you can’t go wrong with a good hamper).
Who Are Highland Fayre?
Highland Fayre are a family business established in 1985 and originally only selling wild smoked salmon. It’s now Scotland’s No. 1 specialist hamper company and they sell luxury food and wine hampers worldwide. Hampers have been their focus now for over 30 years.
Range of Bespoke Hampers
You can choose from a wide range of hampers or let them create the perfect bespoke Hamper. Hampers can be created to match requirements and tailored to any budget.
Our hamper arrived in a very nice black wicker basket. It’s definitely high quality material with a sturdy lock catch and hinges. Perfect to keep for storage or reuse to create your on DIY gift hamper.

There is wide range of hampers available on the website by occasion or aimed at cheese, wine or chocolate lovers and there is also the option to create a personalised hamper for a special occasion.
A Treasure Trove of Goodies
We love opening a hamper not knowing what’s inside and having to dig through the shredded paper and dig out the products one by one (usually along with a few oohs and aahs!) Our hamper contained a good variety of products from coffee, cake, biscuits and chocolates to wine, crisps, jams, chutney, oatcakes and pate. The wine was a lovely 2015 Rioja Crianza which was very nice and is long gone!

As luck would have it the hamper arrived a couple of days before we were due to travel up to Aviemore for a few days holiday. So we packed the hamper in the car and took it with us to enjoy while we were away.
Having recently gone dairy free I was a bit worried that Mrs E was going to end up enjoying most of the products herself. However I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few of the products were dairy free. Including the coffee creams and Abbey biscuits! Both of which were very tasty.
We still have a few products left to try including some Edinburgh Tea & Coffee Co. Whisky flavoured Coffee which I’m very much looking forward to trying but it’s on hold for now thanks to sober October!
What’s The Verdict?
Having been fortunate enough to try out a few hampers over recent years we were definitely impressed with our hamper from Highland Fayre, both the quality and variation of products. There’s a great selection on the website to suit all tastes and budgets so check it out if you are looking for ideas for a great Christmas gift.
