Leaf & Bean, Edinburgh – have you ‘been’?
Thinking of visiting Leaf & Bean Edinburgh? It would seem that I have now reached that point in my life where everyone is getting engaged, married and having kids. Kids were the topic of this recent lunch out. I was meeting my good friend and her little boy so had to opt for somewhere kid and pram friendly. After much debate with my work folk we reasoned that Leaf & Bean in Morningside was the perfect venue. It really is a novelty getting out for lunch during the working week as I’m often time restricted.
Leaf & Bean for those of you who don’t know is located on Comiston Road. It’s a family run affair with regular slots from a local storyteller. The storyteller keeps the kids entertained and you can enjoy your drink whilst it’s still hot! Sounds like a winning combination to me.
Arriving at Leaf & Bean…
On arrival there was lots of seating, with some lovely big sofas at the window. The waiting staff had a warm welcome when I arrived and I quickly found a seat with my friend. The menu is packed full of the regular coffee shop choices and they also do an excellent range of cakes, which I spotted on the way in.
What to order at Leaf & Bean Edinburgh?
I’d ordered a tuna melt panini and a red bush tea at Leaf & Bean Edinburgh. The tuna melt was delicious. It had the correct balance of tuna, mayonnaise and cheese. The outside was crispy and well cooked. I was secretly overjoyed at the little pot of crisps alongside the salad. I like places which balance out the healthiness with a little treat. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough room left for a cake but just for you lot I will have to return and try them out. We both left feeling happy with the lunches we had ordered.
Worth a visit?
Leaf & Bean Edinburgh is definitely somewhere to go if you’re in Morningside and looking for somewhere friendly, tasty and kid friendly. I wouldn’t let that put you off tho, as it’s a lovely place.
