I don’t know about you but I find it so difficult to jazz up a hallway and make it look unique. It is probably the most used part of our home but that doesn’t mean it has to be boring. I am always looking for new ways to make my hallway more unique and attractive and wanted to share some ideas with you today.
Add A Unique Sense Of You
A great way to make a hallway more appealing is to add some unique touches to it. I love seeing photo gallery walls in people’s hallways as it really makes it feel like home. However I also love seeing some more unique touches – Wanapix offers personalised items such as wooden key racks, personalised doormats and more which all give a much more unique spin to your normal boring hallway.
Add Some Plants
Whether you are green fingered or not, a plant can really make the world of difference to the entrance to your home. If you know that you may kill a live plant, consider artificial ones – these can usually be picked up for fairly cheap prices and make any area look beautiful.
Don’t Forget Storage
A hallway can easily become cluttered as everyone comes in from work and school and dumps their shoes, bags, coats and keys. Incorporate storage into the look of your home to make sure this isn’t a problem.
Some people say that they can’t because it is so small but you would be surprised at how much more space some storage can give you instead of letting everyone clutter the place. A small chest of drawers or an appropriately placed cupboard may be suitable for your needs.
If you have understair storage, you could even do something with this if you don’t need it as actual storage space – perhaps a hideout for your pet dogs or a work from home space if the space is big enough?
Make It Seem Bigger
If you have a small entryway, you will need to give the illusion of space. Adding a mirror is a great way to do this as it makes any area seem brighter. The plus point is you will even be able to check you look fine before going out for the day – or coming in from your day and seeing just how much of a toll the day has taken on you!
Is Carpet For You?
Many people choose to carpet their hall; utilising the same carpet they use for their landing and stairs. However some choose to opt for tiles or parquet flooring. If carpet is for you, great – but if not, consider a flooring type that is suitable for your needs and the high traffic it will get from the whole family. Some people consider runners as these are designed to fit these narrow aisles and are fairly cheap to pick up.
These are just a few suggestions we have for creating the perfect hallway in your home – do you have any ideas that you would like to share with us?
