Hosting a summer garden party can certainly be worth it but the planning can be so stressful. We have put together some of the best tips to ensure you throw a garden party that all of your guests will be talking about for days to come.
Will It Be Themed?
Some people choose to have themes for their garden parties. If you do choose to have a theme, make sure to let your guests know far enough in advance so that they can plan their outfits for the day or evening.
Consider Catering
Food is a big part of a garden party but some people just aren’t born chefs. Something that you may want to consider is outside catering. Whether you choose to go for a general theme or choose to opt for a specific cuisine such as Italian catering, a catering firm will be able to sort the food side out for you completely so all you need to worry about is entertaining your guests.
If you are doing the food yourself, make sure you are aware of all of your guest’s dietary requirements. The last thing you want to do is leave some of your guests without food because you haven’t thought to provide for their dietary needs!
Create A Playlist
Whilst the idea of a garden party is for people to mingle and chat to one another, you will definitely want some music in the background. Why not create a playlist of some mellow and chilled out songs and then another more upbeat one for later on in the day if people are feeling a little more party mode than chilled out mode. Have a couple of playlists to choose from!
Have Plenty of Comfortable Seating
If you are inviting guests to your home, you will need to ensure there is plenty of space to sit. Have plenty of comfortable seating outside but also leave inside your house easily accessible so people can choose to sit in there in the shade if they so wish. There are some great outdoor furniture sets that are absolutely perfect for garden parties!
Keep Your Guests Warm or Cool
Depending on the time of year of your party, you may want to think of ways to keep your guests warm or cool. A patio heater or some throws would be great for the colder months whereas some fans or shaded areas would be nice for guests in the summer months.
Don’t Stress Too Much
Planning these parties can be stressful but try not to let it get to you too much! Take some time out to relax and take it easy before having to entertain your guests! The last thing you want to be doing is stressing before and during the party so you don’t have time to enjoy yourself!
These are just a few tips to help you throw the perfect summer garden party for your family and friends. Do you have any tips that you would like to share with us?
