Edinburgh will soon have a new favourite haunt as party parlour and cocktail house, Freddy’s, opens its doors for the first time. Opening at 24 Frederick Street on Friday, October 20, the stunning venue takes nights out to the next level, combining live music with signature serves and specials, world-class beers, and beautifully-designed interiors that will cement its position as the city’s premier new establishment.
Freddy’s Edinburgh – something for everyone!
Offering something for everyone all under one roof, Freddy’s meets the growing demand for experienced-based venues in Scotland, playing host to an incredible line-up of up-and-coming artists, bands, DJs and performers, while also providing an elegant space for catch-ups, social gatherings and more.
Open seven days a week, and representing a significant investment for Edinburgh’s nightlife, General Manager Gavin Currie says Freddy’s will offer the best elements of your favourite bar, live music venue, cocktail parlour and bier hall – something currently missing from the city centre’s hospitality line-up.
“Since the pandemic, a growing number of people are looking for something more than the traditional nightclub experience,” he explained. “They’re looking for a venue that offers live music from local artists, an extensive cocktail selection, cool interiors and a welcoming vibe that’s inclusive of everyone, regardless of age.
Evolving with changing trends…
“Without the necessary investment and a willingness to evolve with changing trends, our nightlife will lie at a standstill – we want to change that with Freddy’s. We’ve worked with a range of amazing local businesses to curate an incredible cocktail menu – including new favourites and classic serves – and premium draught and bottled beer options, so our drinks offering is up there with the best of the best.
“We know that Edinburgh’s licensed trade can get back to the vibrant landscape it was 10 years ago, and we want to be part of that.”
Inspired by some of the world’s coolest late night venues, the Freddy’s interiors were designed in collaboration with ARKA Design Studio and the creative minds at Too Gallus, with no expense spared on lighting and sound. Contemporary, yet warm and welcoming, moody lighting, exposed brick and cosy corners provide the perfect setting for unforgettable nights.
“Images on my moodboard for Freddy’s included the lighting and textures of a Bangkok bar and my partner standing on the subway in New York – I loved the colour of the tiles and knew they would look great in a future project.
“We’ve invested heavily in creating an immersive audio-visual experience that will amplify the live music performances and leave our guests absolutely astounded. We’re genuinely excited about the results, and look forward to sharing it with Edinburgh – we want to turn ordinary moments into extraordinary memories, and hope everyone loves Freddy’s as much as we do.”
Freddy’s opens at 7pm on Friday 20th October with the following opening hours then in place from the 21st October onwards.
