A new late-night party bar has opened in Edinburgh’s West End, promising cocktails, DJs and party anthems until 3am.
The Shaker has opened its doors at 9 Shandwick Place, becoming the latest Edinburgh venue from Encore Bars.
The new bar is centred around cocktails, dancing and DJs, with resident DJs taking over every Friday and Saturday night.
Expect a soundtrack spanning chart favourites, house, R&B, hip hop and plenty of crowd-pleasing party anthems, with disco balls, neon and bold interiors setting the scene.
Cocktails are a major part of the offering too, with a dedicated menu featuring premium spirits alongside an extensive selection of shooters.
Gavin Currie, Director of Operations, said: “We’re thrilled to finally open the doors at Shaker. The opening weekend exceeded everything we’d hoped for.

“The room was full, the music was spot on, and the atmosphere was exactly what we set out to create. The feedback from guests has been fantastic and bookings are already flying in for the weeks ahead.”
One of the big selling points is its relaxed approach to a night out. Entry is free, there’s no dress code and booths can be booked for free, with no minimum spend or compulsory packages.
The Shaker is also opening earlier than many of the city’s late-night venues. Doors open from 7pm midweek, 5pm on Fridays and 3pm on Saturdays, with the party continuing until 3am.
The venue is aimed at everyone from Edinburgh’s after-work crowd and students to birthday groups, weekend get-togethers and those simply looking for somewhere to have a cocktail and dance.
The Shaker is now open at 9 Shandwick Place, Edinburgh, EH2 4RG.
