And so, when it comes to the UK’s slowest talkers, people in Edinburgh take the lead, talking at a rate of 132.27 words per minute.
Edinburgh City TV, the official YouTube channel for Edinburgh City Football Club, had the slowest talking presenters, delivering their commentary and news at a steady and easy-to-follow 83.54 words per minute.
Residents of Birmingham, often referred to as ‘Brummies’, weren’t far behind in the rankings. They secured the spot as the second slowest talkers in the UK. In this bustling city, the locals have an unhurried conversational pace, clocking in at 164.21 words per minute, suggesting a preference for a more deliberate and measured way of communicating.
