Continuing the celebration of Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink there is a brand new summer food festival set to take place in Edinburgh, showcasing the very best of Scotland’s food and drink alongside a complementary line-up of music, entertainment and talks and even better it’s FREE to attend!!

The Edinburgh Food Festival is supported by EventScotland, VisitScotland and Scotland Food & Drink as part of the Year of Food and Drink Scotland. The food festival will feature stalls from at least 15 different producers around the garden, including Slow Food experts and bread makers. Food offerings will include freshly grilled seafood, wood fired pizza and gourmet beef burgers. Festival-goers can also enjoy free talks ranging from the benefits of organic food to a discussion on sustainability in food and drink.

This fantastic event takes place from 29 July to 2 August, midday until after midnight, in Assembly’s George Square Gardens. There will be gourmet street food and local produce lined up alongside talks and debates from food and drink insiders.  Our foodie favourite Galloway Chillies will be there along with a number of other foodies. The only thing you need to do is bag yourself some tickets (remember the talks are free, so hurry otherwise you might be disappointed). More information on the festival can be found at Ed Food Fest.

In addition to the food stalls, tickets for a range of evening entertainment are on sale. The programme includes Edinburgh-based comic Hardeep Singh Kohli, cutting edge cabaret show Le Haggis, award winning Scottish fiddler, composer and producer Aidan O’Rourke and the all female four piece folk band, The Poozies.
