Edinburgers Eat, Drink and Discover Scotland

July 10, 2019 by Clare Leave a Comment

So as we had mentioned in our previous post, we headed off to Eat, Drink and Discover Scotland the other week (Scotland’s largest celebration of Scottish food & drink – what better way to spend a Sunday right?). We had a great time sampling all that was on offer and of course spent way too much! Below is our day in pictures:

IMG_1123There were various demonstrations ongoing throughout the day, this if I remember rightly was an ice cream making demonstration. We’re more eating ice cream fans rather than making.

IMG_1105We tried a few samples from the wonderful selection at Trotters Condiments stall. Who also very kindly donated a selection for our hamper giveaway.

IMG_1112 IMG_1127We didn’t get round to trying Simple Simons Perfect Pies in the end but they looked fab!

IMG_1135IMG_1139 IMG_1137IMG_1099We had a nice chat with our friend Sheena from Galloway Chillies & bagged ourself some ghost and habanero chillies among others to experiment with

IMG_1102IMG_1101There were another couple of exhibitor stalls who’s goods we sampled but didn’t manage to get images of, but are certainly worth a mention: I tried the most amazing rum and raisin flavoured fudge from The Galloway Fudge Company, and bought some to take home with me which didn’t last long. We also sampled a few of the excellent cheeses on offer from The Damn Fine Cheese Company (one of which ended up in our hamper also).

We had a great day at Eat, Drink and Discover Scotland and the whole 3 day event was a roaring success with plans already underway for next years event. It looks like this will be another regular event in the foodie calender so we will see you there next year!
