Deacon Brodies Tavern on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile officially reopened this spring after a 4-week makeover, giving the iconic pub an exciting new look. The pub now has a fresh exterior while keeping its traditional charm inside.
Known for its authentic Scottish pub experience, Deacon Brodies Tavern was built in 1806 and is named after Deacon William Brodie, one of the inspirations behind Robert Louis Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde.

You can enjoy all of the traditional pub classics such as Balmoral Chicken, Nicholson’s Fish and Chips, Haggis, Neeps and Tatties and so many more! There’s some delicious seasonal dishes and alongside the new menu, guests can also enjoy many a tipple.
There’s a wide selection of craft beers, ciders and they’ve even brought something new to the menu – cocktails!
The General Manager Taufiq Abdu was quoted as saying:
‘’Deacon Brodie’s Tavern is an iconic Scottish pub, loved by guests from all over the world who visit us to experience our traditional Tavern atmosphere.
