A cosy bedroom space is something that everyone deserves but we don’t always know how to create one that serves our needs. Whether we opt for sloping ceilings wardrobes or choose a decor that harks back to our childhood, we all have different things that feel like home to us.
Here are some ways that you can create a cosy bedroom space that you want to live in.
Choose Cosy Decor
A great way to make a room feel more cosy is to choose some cosy decor. Candles are great for this as not only do they look great but they provide light and if you choose scented candles, they will even make the room smell nice too! Some high street stores sell them for as little as £2 or £3!
Opt For a Large Soft Rug
A rug is a great addition to any bedroom and nothing could get more cosier than a large fluffy rug. These can easily be picked up for cheap in most high street stores so you would be a fool not to pick one up for your bedroom.
Consider Extra Cushions And Pillows For Your Bed
We don’t always spend time in bed sleeping, some of us choose to sit in it and read or watch TV. Make your bed even comfier with some extra cushions and pillows. These can easily be picked up for fairly affordable prices – you can even pick them up from charity shops or thrift shops if you are on a budget.
Choose Curtains Over Blinds
Whilst blinds have their purpose, curtains definitely create a more cosy atmosphere. You can choose thinner ones for the warmer weather whereas the thicker ones provide more warmth and light exclusion when it comes to the colder months.
Don’t Clutter The Place…
There is a difference between being cosy and being cluttered. Make sure your items are not cluttering up the room – make sure everything has its place. You are hardly going to feel relaxed and comfy if you are constantly having to move things or tidy them away. Clutter is not a great choice for a cosy living space.
…But Don’t Shy Away From Having Certain Things Out On Display
Even if you are trying to avoid your bedroom looking cluttered, you can still have some things out on display. A few little trinkets are not going to hurt and a book collection to browse through when you have the chance is also great to have out on display.
If you have a passion, then be proud of it and have it out for all to see. Just make sure it has its own place in the room.
