The UK’s biggest cocktail festival, Cocktails in the City, returns to Edinburgh on the 29th & 30th October 2015 with 16 handpicked bars showcasing the vibrant and diverse bar scene of the capital city. As you’ll know we love cocktails and are always on the hunt for an excellent tipple or two. We reckon this is the best place to continue our hunt and see what the bartenders of Edinburgh have to offer us.
This two day event on the 29th and 30th October is set to welcome over 1,000 people to Mansfield Traquair, we can’t imagine a better setting. A number of our favourite Edinburgh establishments are already confirmed to take part, including Harvey Nichols, 56 North, Juniper, Chaophraya, Treacle, The Blackbird and Hoot the Redeemer.
A must visit for cocktail lovers and budding mixologists alike, the event will see bars and bartenders go head-to-head in a bid to win the coveted ‘Best Cocktail’ award. Other awards, such as ‘Best Show Experience’, will encourage bar teams to be on full charm offensive while demonstrating their skills for flaring and mixing. The event will also include a series of educational demos on how to create healthy cocktails or the best drink for the morning after the night before.
Andrew Scutts, Founder of Cocktails in the City, shared his excitement:
After an extremely successful 2014, Cocktails in the City is looking forward to bringing the festival back to the people of Edinburgh. With some of the capital’s best bars on board, and some exciting new additions for 2015, we can’t wait for audiences to experience what we have in store. Cocktails in the City has become something of a buzz word for the best place to sample innovative cocktails while watching the theatre of bartending – Edinburgh is no exception!”
Providing food throughout the event will be award-winning caterers – Heritage Portfolio. They will provide a delicious dinner menu throughout the event, with live DJs also in attendance.
Tickets are £10 and include one free cocktail, access to the main stage demonstrations and a cocktail booklet. Tickets and more information can be found here.
