Cafe Rouge Edinburgh Competition

November 12, 2015 by Clare 17 Comments

Café Rouge launched in the UK in 1989 and quickly became Britain’s beloved bistro brand. In authentically Parisian surroundings, Café Rouge prides itself on extending a warm welcome to everyone seeking a real taste of bistro life all day, every day. Combining the very best examples of classic bistro cuisine, wine and coffee, Café Rouge presents customers with exciting and delicious choices from breakfast and lunch to dinner and drinks. For meet-ups with mates, family dinners and romantic special occasions, Café Rouge sets the scene for deliciously memorable times.

Café Rouge Edinburgh has recently unveiled a beautifully redesigned bistro at the end of September 2015 with a theme paying tribute to les arts. Four large panels in the vaulted ceiling display bespoke murals depicting of collection of artwork associated with culinary, literary, performance and visual arts.  Classic French artwork and vintage mirrors also adorn the walls. A change in layout has seen extra fixed and booth seating incorporated, creating a relaxed and warm dining space. Selected chairs have been upholstered in Auld Alliance Tartan marrying the heritage and location of the Frederick Street restaurant. The restaurant can now cater for every social/corporate occasion. A large section to the rear can now be partitioned off with beautiful glazed screens, ideal for those looking to host a festive function.

As well as the new look, the 187 cover bistro is pleased to present a brand new menu, featuring the most authentic and classic dishes yet. Executive Chef Duncan McEwan has explored 25 years of Café Rouge menus and French cuisine – from their debut offering in 1989 of steak frites right through to current French food trends. The selection even includes a rather special appearance from one of France’s most famous culinary exports – the snail – with Ragout D’Escargots a new, must-try dish! With the summer holidays well and truly over, parents can still treat their petit enfant to a brand new Children’s menu featuring treats such as Le Burger and Sautéed Poulet.

Catering for your needs right through from breakfast (think Eggs Benedict, Warm Baked Chouquettes and Truffled Mushrooms on Toast!) to lunches (including Menu Rapide – perfect for business meets) to dinner or just after work drinks (perhaps over a ‘plateau a partager’).  To go with a new menu, every restaurant needs a great new wine menu. Having collaborated closely with Bibendum, they have introduced an outstanding wine list featuring a terrific selection offering great quality and value, including De Castellane Champagne, Alsace Pinot Gris from Jean Biecher and Crozes Hermitage from Paul Jaboulet.

On the relaunch Restaurant Manager Andrew Keith said,

“Wow, what a transformation! Being the only Cafė Rouge in Scotland we really had to pull out all the stops for this relaunch. The new look, the service, the food and the wine are all first class, and this is the start of a new era of Cafė Rouge Edinburgh!”

So of course, after reading all that, you’ll be wanting to experience it for yourself. Well look no further we can offer you the chance to win a dinner for 4 up to the value of £150, including drinks.

Such a nice prize. I love travelling to Edinburgh as there is so much to do in the city and it is especially great at Christmas time. Would be really nice to treat my parents and husband to a lovely experience at the new Cafe Rouge as my parents won’t be around for Christmas this year as they will be away from home. We could have an early Xmas meal!
