Now we’ve not been out for brunch for a long time. This is what happens now we’ve decided to become proper grown ups, bought a house and chosen to get married all in the same year. So when I spotted an excellent little offer on Itison for brunch at Lebowski’s Bar Edinburgh I quickly snapped it up and waited until the right moment came up. That was to be a Sunday morning before we were going to do some wedding stuff in town. I thought I’d get Mr E on side and ready for the day with a full cooked breakfast and coffee.
Trying to be a little bit healthier I opted for the vegetarian full breakfast and Mr E had the full Scottish. We were possibly a tad hungry given that there were only 2 other people in the place at 11am but then we remembered it was a rugby weekend and everyone was probably nursing hangovers. The place soon started to fill up with lots of hungry tourists and locals. We were quickly served our hot drinks and got down to wedding discussions whilst we waited.
It wasn’t long before Mr E was tucking into bacon, sausage, tattie scone, haggis, Stornoway black pudding, roast mushroom, Lebowski’s baked beans, roasted plum tomato, toast and fried egg, and I was tucking into a plate full of spinach and mozzarella rosti, falafel, roast mushroom, veggie haggis, roasted plum tomato, lebowski’s baked beans, tattie scone, fried egg and toast.
I was pleasantly surprised with my veggie selection and quickly cleared my plate. Mr E was suitability impressed with his plate and by the time the waiting staff had checked on how we were getting on, the plates spoke for themselves. We definitely felt breakfast was good value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to come back again and maybe sample something else on the menu.
