Now is the perfect time to start thinking about any changes you’d like to make to your home this year. It might be that you have an extension in mind or some smaller home improvements. Here are some of our top tips to add a little luxury into your home.
1. Underfloor heating
Underfloor heating is such luxury. There’s little nicer than walking on warm floors that would otherwise be absolutely freezing. It is also perfect for freeing up wall space that would otherwise be taken up with a radiator or two. The only downside is when you have your Christmas tree in the house. If you have a real tree you need to think carefully about where you’re going to put it to avoid the heat causing needle-loss.
2. Steam shower
Why not consider installing an Insignia Shower Cabin. These come with a whole range of luxurious features such as internal LED chromotherapy lighting, overhead rain shower, 2nd generation touch screen control panel with Bluetooth connectivity and an optional 2.8kw fast start steam generator with tri-jet steam outlet and aromatherapy injection system. A steam shower provides several health benefits such as alleviating stiff joints, increasing metabolism, helping with asthma and boosting your immune system. Of course, it has the added benefit of helping you relax too.
3. Splash out on bedding
I love fresh bedding. There’s no doubt that you get what you pay for. For added luxury its worth getting high thread count bedding, a high-quality mattress topper and a feather duvet. You’ll most certainly need to iron the bedding well, but it will feel heavenly.
4. It’s the little things
Buying gorgeously scented handwash, body wash and moisturisers all give a little luxury at a reasonable price. Don’t underestimate the uplift in your spirits when you use a soap with a scent that you love. When you combine it with a moisturiser it’s a little act of self-care. I also love using plugin diffusers with some really high quality essential oils in them. You can buy different ones to use at different times of the day, depending on your mood and energy and I have to say I adore them.
5. Wrap up
Add some luxurious blankets and throws to add a little luxury whether you’re snuggled on the sofa with your favourite glass of wine and a book or if you are settling down for a little nap, a super soft blanket will bring a smile to your face. If you’re entertaining outside, why not provide a basket of blankets for your guests to help themselves to keep the chill off or drape them over the backs of the chairs therefore elongating the time you can spend outdoors.
